Schneider Engineering began working for this west Texas Utility in 2013, and once purchased by another Utility, continued work in late 2017 under the existing contract. The original Utility served nearly 54,000 customers, with the new Utility serving those individuals plus 10 million more across the state of Texas. They own approximately 134,000 miles of line and more than 3.45 million meters. SE has designed and staked 304 projects for the Utilities combined, totaling approximately 1,670 miles. Projects range in size from a service drop to a 17 mile tie line / rebuild. As part of the staff augmentation, SE performs the following scope of work: Routing; Field staking of proposed poles/guys with survey-grade GPS equipment; Entering construction specifications and creating staking sheets in StakeOut and Partner software; Performing easement / 811 locate coordination; Providing ROW services where easements were obtained; Developing easement exhibits on the Utility’s behalf; Assisting with TxDOT permit exhibits and underground road bores; and Developing 500 page construction specification book for both overhead and underground primary and secondary electric construction.
