Construction Manager

Schneider Engineering is seeking individuals for the Electrical Distribution Construction Manager position. The ideal candidate will be a journeyman lineman with experience in journey-level distribution electrical work in the installation, construction, maintenance, and repair of underground and overhead electric distribution and service lines, transformers, meters, metering equipment, and related equipment. The ideal candidate will also have experience in planning, staffing, organizing, coordinating, and inspecting the construction of large electrical distribution projects.

Responsibilities include:
• Assisting in development, preparation, and finalization of project schedules
• Coordinating communications and correspondence from owner, engineer, material vendors, and construction contractors
• Resolving scheduling, material, and construction issues as they arise
• Coordinating delivery of materials at job site
• Assisting with the administration of subcontract requirements, contract documents, and change orders
• Ensuring project quality control procedures are followed during construction process, in accordance with contract documents, engineering drawings and specifications, and permit requirements
• Performing direct oversight of contracted construction crews, visiting job sites frequently and as needed to review jobsite progress
• Maintain daily logs of contractor activities and complete status reports including photographs
• Performing and documenting inspections, creating and issuing punch lists
• Reviewing and approving contractor invoices and verifying completion of billed construction units
• Assisting in development of as-built drawings
• Assisting in completing financial closeouts

Minimum Requirements:
• High school diploma
• Valid Texas Driver’s License
• Journeyman level lineman work experience
• Ability to travel working 95% in the field, 5% in the office. Field work will involve traversing difficult and uneven terrain on foot
• Ability to use computer systems, entering data and processing information
• Ability to organize and set priorities, handle multiple tasks in a fast paced and changing environment, and meet deadlines
• Ability to work more than 40 hours per work week
